Believer, friend, sister, brother in Christ, our authority is God, not man.
As believers, we must stand up for the truth and realize that this is spiritual warfare. The Devil thinks he’s winning, and from what I’m seeing, his lies & deceptions are influencing SO, so many. It breaks my heart. As Christians, we cannot be so easily influenced by the world and it’s schemes. There is evil in disguise in and around our communities and nation.
We have been liberated through Christ, by His death. Only the gospel of Jesus can truly heal & save our souls. If we truly call ourselves His children, we know this with our entire being.
We know how this all ends. God wins. The enemy loses. We cannot forget this ending and what the scripture tells us. Trusting in the Lord with all of our might and strength is answer. Prayer is the most valuable tool we Christians have.
I encourage you, stand firm in your faith. Cling to God’s Word. Live your life in accordance with His teachings. Do not be influenced by the world and man. Our battle is not of flesh and blood, but of good versus evil. Again, our authority is God, not man.
Revelation tell us that earth will come to an end and there will be judgement. When people hurt you or speak ill towards you, I know how bad that can sting. Sometimes it feels words are like knives. However, man is temporary. God, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit and Heaven are eternal. The more we can carve this mindset into our humanly minds, the better we will understand the sinful life of humans and that our authority is God.
I love the verse in Isaiah 40:8 that reads, “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” Everything on earth, animals, flowers, herbs, even humans will come to an end. This is why we put our complete trust in our Heavenly Father. He goes before us.
Isaiah 40 continues in verse 28 saying, “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not grow faint” (28-31).
How can we remain in confidence with the Lord? Pray. “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). Pray that The Holy Spirit will continue to renew your mind as you read and re-read God’s Word, practice a Holy life, turn away from sin, and seek God in everything that you do. Our authority is God, not man.
“Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!” Acts 5:29 NIV
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — His good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2 NIV
“For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due for us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10 NIV
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” Matthew 28:18 NIV
