Good Monday morning, my lovelies. ✨
This is my view this morning, sipping on coffee and watching Luke play in his new Finding Nemo themed bouncer (thank you Nana☺️).
I’ve realized that I haven’t posted photos around our home much lately and remember in a poll that y’all love seeing our cozy home. I’m so sorry I’ve been lacking in that department! Lol.
We’ve got a few projects going on that should be finished soon. I’ll also be doing a master bedroom reveal blog post this week and I’m supa pumped for that. I don’t know about you, but my (our) bedroom is always a safe and sacred space to relax, find comfort, pray and reflect on our blessings.
Last night at our church small group, we continued in the book of James chapter 2. We utilize Francis Chan’s study guides. He and his wife are AH-MAZING. Aka check them out :)
The verses that resonated with me were 14-17 “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
Continuing in verse 26, “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” Wow. Just wow. I was instantly convicted by reading this scripture and reflecting on my faith.
For some, it’s easy to speak about our faith all day long (myself included), but are my works showing through my faith? The honest answer? No. I could do more. I should do more. When presented with opportunities to witness, I freeze and feel paralyzed by rejection or hurtful words. I don’t volunteer enough.
God says that we stand apart and that we are the outcasts of society. He states this in John 15:18-20, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.“
My takeaway is this, I personally need to work on acting out my faith with deeds and not be afraid because the Holy Spirit is strengthening me every day. God says he will not forsake us. BELIEVE in this truth. Guard it in your heart.
I hope you have an amazing Monday and know just how loved you are. ❣️ I love hearing from you!
