Hi friend! Today, we’re talking about 3 things to let go of this year and every year.
All of those thoughts that are paralyzing you from being the best version of yourself, get rid of them. Say your goodbyes and let them go, seriously. Go over each thought, one-by-one, and face the thought head on. What is it about that thought that terrifies you? Everyone makes mistakes. These mistakes do NOT define you or your future. Those that have hurt you in the past? Forgive and move on. Jesus has already come to pay the price for our sins. Repent, and learn from your mistakes. Most importantly, trust that God has a plan and has everything under control. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Trust in your Heavenly Father that you can cast all of your fears and anxiety onto Him.
That voice in your head that tells you you’re not good enough, not strong enough, not determined enough? That’s Satan and he’s waiting for any moment to catch you in your vulnerability. Recognizing that these thoughts are not pure and just will help you succeed in your goals! God wants you to grow and flourish, not waste your time questioning yourself. You’re only as strong as your determination allows you. With the Holy Spirit in your heart and positivity in your mind, you can truly accomplish anything you set your mind to! Trust that you are capable of excelling! Lean on scripture to validate your identity in Christ. You were made to be wonderful, courageous, strong, and in His image.
The sad reality is we all know someone or multiple people who only reach out to you if it benefits them. However, when we reach out… radio silence or an unpleasant/negative reply. It’s time to let these toxic relationships go. Now, if you’re family, you shouldn’t give up so easily. Family is the greatest gift God has given us apart from Jesus and salvation. Broken relationships can be extremely difficult to mend, but we owe our family that.
Keeping in mind, it’s common sense to know when enough is enough and realizing all you can do is pray for God to start working from the inside and change their heart. It’s not your job to change them, it’s His job. That may be a tough pill to swallow, but it’s the truth. The only person who can control your reaction and your happiness is yourself. Trust that God is on your side and that you deserve to be surrounded by people who uplift and appreciate you.
Remember this, our God is FOR you, not against you. “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
